Words With Forsyth: A Scrabble Tournament!

Join us at our first ever Scrabble tournament!
All proceeds go to our GED Scholarship fund!

When: Saturday February 25, 2012
Where: Lanier Tech Conference Center
Time: 10 am to 2 pm
To play: $10 for the Recreation Tournament or $20 for the Competitive Tournament
Deadline for Registration: February 22

Literacy Forsyth is hosting a two-round, individual tournament. There are two competition brackets: recreation and competition. Anyone over the age of 13 is eligible to register.
The top two scores (combined from rounds one and two) will go on to compete in a Final Round. Competitors will win exciting prizes and bragging rights as our first ever Scrabble Champion.

To register:
1. Click the donate button below.
2. Submit your donated registration fee ($10 for Recreation or $20 for Tournament)
3. You will receive a confirmation email from literacyforsyth@gmail.com
4. Print this email and bring it to the tournament.

More Tournament Information:
1. Players must be at least 13 years old to register. All players must register online.
2. Literacy Forsyth will provide all the game boards.
3. Each round will last exactly 50 minutes.
4. There are two rounds in which all players compete. The first round begins at 10 am on February 25th.
5. There are two players competing per game.
6. In the first round, players are randomly matched.
7. In the second round, king of the hill pairing is used.
8. A player's scores from both games are combined and the top two scoring players go on to compete in a championship game.
9. Official Scrabble rules are used as tournament rules.
10. The Fourth Edition Scrabble Dictionary is used in tournament play.
11. There will be judges to rule on challenges during games.
