Literacy Forsyth is an organization that is so successful because of the hard work and dedication of its Volunteers. The organization has Volunteers who have given thousands of hours to provide free adult basic education to Forsyth County residents. Literacy Forsyth Volunteers complete a variety of task to help the organization run effectively, but the main role that Volunteers fill is that of Tutor.

Spell Check Live!!

It's time for our 12th annual adult spelling bee, Spell Check Live!! As always, teams from our community will compete to determine which team is champion in spelling.

When: October 4, 2011
Where: Lanier Tech Conference Center
Time: 6:30
Cost: $5 for audience members

We will have gift basket raffles and an audience spelling bee! Don't miss this fun community event! Also, stay tuned for a list of team names and sponsors...

Celebrate Literacy Day - September 8, 2011

September 8, 2011 was proclaimed Georgia Literacy Day by Governor Nathan Deal to encourage citizens to support literacy campaigns in their local communities. Also, the week of September 12-18, 2011 has been proclaimed as Literacy Week.

Greetings. My name is Annaliza Thomas and I am the new Executive Director for Literacy Forsyth. I am extremely excited to be working with such an important community organization. I have been overwhelmed with the warm welcome and support given to me by the Board of Directors and members of this organization. I look forward to our continued work together.
